Dr Colin Reilly
School of Education, Glasgow
Colin recently completed his PhD, based in the English Language and Linguistics Department at the University of Glasgow.
His PhD research looked at the sociolinguistic situation in higher education in Malawi, with a focus on language use and language attitudes amongst students and staff in higher education institutions.
He also sits on the Board of Directors of the Scotland-Malawi Partnership, a national civil society network which coordinates, supports and represents people-to-people links between Scotland and Malawi.
He is currently Secretary for the British Association for Applied Linguistics, Language in Africa Special Interest Group.
His research interests are:
- Applied linguistics
- Language policy
- Language in Africa, especially in Malawi
- Language and international development.
