Lewis Baison Dzimbiri, PhD Industrial Relations, (Keele-UK) MSc HRD (Manchester-UK) and BA Public. Administration (Malawi) and professor of public administration and management, is a seasoned management educator, trainer, researcher, facilitator and consultant with over twenty five years’ experience in Higher Education in Malawi and beyond.
He has taught at the Staff Development Institute, Mpemba in Malawi, the University of Botswana , Galilee International Management Institute (Israel), Midlands State University (Zimbabwe), Great Zimbabwe University and the University of Malawi.
He has taught general management, human resource management, human resource development, organization development, industrial relations and public administration-related courses for undergraduate and postgraduate students and has also done research in these areas as well as supervised and examined numerous students at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
His consultancy assignments have been in capacity and skills assessment. Organizational analysis and review, programme and project evaluation, strategic planning, performance management systems, programme evaluation, training needs assessment, workshop and training facilitation. He has also consulted, researched and conducted management training in Malawi and SADC member states.
He has functioned in numerous committees and boards, supervised and examined research projects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Prof. Dzimbiri has a good track record of publications which include 6 books, 36 journal articles, 24 book chapters and over numerous conference/workshop papers.
Administratively, he has served as Head of Department of Political and Administrative Studies, Dean of Faculty of Social Science (twice) and Vice Principal of Chancellor College in the University of Malawi and is now the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR).
Since September 2017, Professor Dzimbiri has been responsible for assisting the Vice Chancellor to realize LUANAR’’s vision to be a ‘world class university’ through leadership and management, academic affairs; research and publications, finance and resource mobilization, publicity and quality assurance.
