Winford Masanjala is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Malawi. He previously taught at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA, Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, Bloomsburg, PA.
Between 2010 and 2014 he was seconded to the Malawi Government where he served as Secretary for Energy and Director of Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance of the Malawi government.
He holds an MSc and PhD in Economics from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA; a Post-graduate Diploma (Population & Development Studies) from the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, Netherlands; and a BA in Social Science (Economics) from the University of Malawi.
His research interests include Macroeconomics, Health economics and labour and migration. Some of his work has appeared in peer-reviewed publications including the Journal of Applied Econometrics, Agriculture Economics and Resource Allocation and Cost Effectiveness.
